Meet The Trainer
Carlos Salguero Ocaña
With decades of experience, Carlos has dedicated himself to the art of dressage and quality care of performance horses.
His journey began as a young boy, growing up on a ranch in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, with the simple belief that every horse deserves correct training and a caring environment where they can thrive. Following in the footsteps of his father, a talented horse trainer and facility manger, Carlos utilizes an old school approach to horse care and training, believing in prioritizing the well-being of the horse above all else, and creating an environment that is designed for the horse, not just for people.
Carlos began training and competing in the US, where he specialized in dressage and working equitation, earning the title of national champion in the Doma Vaquera and working equitation. Carlos continued competing in dressage and began working independently with clients. He began winning championships with client horses and represented Spain as his home country twice at the Nations cup. He became established as an international FEI grand prix dressage rider and earned USDF Gold with distinction medal.
Carlos now runs his facility here in Conroe, TX, where he offers boarding, lessons, and training. Carlos educates riders at all levels, as well as specializes in training horses from teaching basics and starting under saddle, all the way to Grand Prix level. He is currently training and competing on several wonderful horses that have been developed by him in his program.
